Plasma TV or LED?

What technology will be better as far as a die hard fan of movies is considered?

Where is the exact difference between these two technologies?

Plasmas have a much shorter span than LEDs, and a worse image quality as well. I don't know anyone who's recently purchased a Plasma, everyone is going for LEDs now.
